Guarantees To Austin PC Solutions Customers
- Estimates of hardware repairs or upgrades are always free. No work beyond an estimate will ever be performed without full understanding and approval by the customer.
- Preventative maintenance is the key to a stable, functional, frustration-free personal computer. I will recommend software and practices to help ensure that your computer runs well for months or years into the future.
- Quality parts from reputable manufacturers are the keys to long computer life, future upgradeability, and stability in a personal computer. I will never use sub-standard, low-quality parts in your computer.
- The customer’s happiness and appreciation of a job well done are important to my continued success. If you are happy, then you’ll recommend my services to your friends, family, and co-workers.
- Computer geek-speak is not a language I use with my customers. I will speak to you in plain terms about computer technology.
- A customer should never spend more on upgrades or repairs than a computer is worth. Sometimes it is easier or cheaper just to buy a new computer. If this is the case, I'll let you know, even if I lose your immediate business.
- I will never take advantage of someone just because they might know less about computers than I do. I believe in fair estimates, honest repairs, and friendly service.
Our Policies
Drop-Offs:
- If I can’t fix your desktop computer, you owe me nothing.
- If I can't recover data from your hard drive, you owe me nothing.
- Laptop repair is both invasive and time-consuming. Most all repairs require the disassembly of the unit. There will be a minimum 1 hour labor charge on all laptop repairs that include major unit disassembly.
On-Site Work:
- All time spent at a customer site is billable by the hour, even down-time waiting on downloads, installations, or scans.
- On-Site service is offered on a best-effort basis. I cannot guarantee I can fix issues until I see them and make an attempt.
Austin PC Solutions' Statement of Warranty
Parts:
- All parts provided by Austin PC Solutions are warranted by the original manufacturer, supplier, or both. Austin PC Solutions will help customers obtain any warranty service, when necessary, including shipment of parts back to the original supplier or manufacturer for replacement or repair, so long as the parts are still under warranty. All costs associated with shipping, handling, service, 3rd party repair, or restocking fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Labor:
- Labor associated with the repair, replacement, or installation of parts supplied by Austin PC Solutions is warranted for 30 days unless otherwise noted below.
- Labor associated with repair, replacement, or installation of parts in one of our Custom PCs is warranted for 1 year from the date of delivery of the PC.
- Labor associated with the installation and configuration of the operating system (Windows) or other software, either in a customer supplied computer or in one of my custom PCs, is warranted for 30 days from the time the customer takes delivery of the PC.
Software:
- Software support of any kind, including drivers for hardware, is billable at normal Austin PC Solutions hourly service rates.
What We Don't Do
- Austin PC Solutions does not do board-level soldering or repairs to motherboards or any kind of peripheral cards. We will replace the parts after finding the best price and consulting with the customer. There may be times when board-level repair is the best solution for the customer. In such cases we may have a third-party perform such repairs with customer consent.
- Austin PC Solutions does not repair the internal components of an LCD screen. We can replace a broken LCD screen, but we will not repair one.
- We do not repair printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, or monitors.
- Austin PC Solutions does not accept payment by credit card. We take cash or check only.
